According to a report published by the folks over NokiaPowerUser, the Nokia 9 flagship Android smartphone is all set to be launched this fall. Citing a reliable tipster, the report claims that the Nokia 9 will be unveiled sometime towards the end of July or by early August this year. It will then go on sale by the end of the third quarter or even early Q4.
Interestingly, the tipster does not make any mention of two different Nokia 9 variants. Early rumors had claimed that Nokia will be launching two variants of its flagship smartphone this year, each sporting a different screen size.
The Nokia 9 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch OLED display with 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution display and will be running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core chipset under the hood. At the back is expected to be a 22MP dual-lens camera setup with Carl-Zeiss optics. On the front will be a 12MP resolution selfie snapper, which certainly sounds impressive on paper. The tipster had shed some light on the other core specs of the smartphone recently, which definitely seem quite impressive.
In the memory department, the Nokia 9 is expected to include 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, which would put it on par with most rivals from China. It will also include 128GB of internal memory, which is on the higher side for a flagship device. The Nokia 9 could prove to be an impressive beast in the battery life department as well, as the tipster suggests it will pack a large 3800mAh capacity battery inside. That’s 300mAh bigger than the Galaxy S8+’s battery. Some of the other rumored specs include IP68 certification, an iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, Nokia OZO audio enhancements, and Android 7.1 Nougat operating system with a light skin on top.
In terms of pricing, the smartphone is expected to be priced at EUR 749 in markets across Europe, while in the US it is tipped to cost $700. In India, the smartphone is said to cost Rs.44999, which is quite competitive.
